Katie Flynn Named One of RBJ’s 2025 Women of Excellence

Katie Flynn has been named one of the Rochester Business Journal’s 2025 Women of Excellence. She joins 49 other outstanding area women selected by an outside panel of judges based on professional experience, community involvement, and a commitment to inspiring change. Honorees will be recognized at an awards celebration at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center on Thursday, May 8.

“This is an amazing honor and I’m both thrilled and thankful to receive it,” says Katie. “I’m also humbled to be included among so many other inspiring Rochester-area women.”

Nomination letters were a key part of the RBJ’s selection process. In their letters, mentors and colleagues noted Katie’s “… willingness to roll up her sleeves and ‘do whatever it takes …’”, that she is “… not only an extraordinary leader, but also a person of compassion and integrity,” and that “she firmly believes that putting the people you work with first is the quickest route to success.”

Katie first joined Flynn in 2017 and assumed the role of President in 2022. She now oversees 25 full-time agency employees, including seven executive-level leaders spanning diverse disciplines: Client Services, Creative, Customer Experience Management, Media, Finance and Business Development.

Among her numerous professional accomplishments to date, Katie led significant company-wide efforts to build and promote a workplace culture of balance, kindness, and success, resulting in Flynn securing a Top 10 spot on Ad Age’s annual Best Places to Work in Marketing & Media list in 2023.

“I’ve always been proud of Katie and the many ways she’s helped Flynn become the incredible agency it is today,” says CEO Chris Flynn. “It’s fantastic that others are recognizing what I’ve always seen in her. I’ll also bet this isn’t the last award that she wins.”
