I was really intrigued by Flynn’s core areas of expertise: not just media and creative, but also research and customer experience management. Having all these capabilities under one roof gives the agency a unique, 360-degree view of a client’s business—and the opportunity to help them much more holistically. I was also excited about getting to work on more DTC campaigns. As far as culture goes, Flynn has a lot of great events that bring everyone together, from happy hours to golf tourneys.
I’ve been able to work with a lot of great clients and teammates who’ve shaped my career and helped hone my skills in various ways. I started as a Marketing Communications Coordinator for Rochester Downtown Development Corporation. Most recently, I worked at Truth Collective as an Associate Account Executive, working my way up to Senior AE. I’ve found that the account services role really hits on my key strengths. For instance, I’m passionate about quality communication—from forming strong relationships with clients to presenting new ideas. Thinking strategically is another big area for me. Getting to understand clients’ needs and challenges and finding creative ways to solve them is something I always get excited about.
Right now, I’m working on a variety of clients, including specialty eyecare products for Bausch + Lomb and some OTC brands. I’m looking forward to leading additional accounts as the agency expands.
I love gnarly creative challenges. Nothing is as rewarding as coming to the table with a solution that really nails the brief and moves the client’s business forward. I also thrive in an environment like Flynn that encourages collaboration and strategic thinking. And who doesn’t love a good creative brainstorm?
I’m inspired by my family and friends. I have some amazing people in my life and I’m often in awe of everything they’ve accomplished and the hardships they overcame to get there. I’m also inspired by organizations doing admirable work in our community and beyond. A few that are near and dear to me are Lollypop Farm, Willow Domestic Violence Center, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester. I look forward to working with more non-profits at Flynn, whether that’s through volunteering or providing marketing support.
In my free time I run a food blog on Instagram, @RocSydyEats, where I share all the best restaurants and new spots locally. And I dabble with cooking trends and new recipes. I also love to get outside and stay active. In the wintertime you can find me skiing; I’m a retired ski instructor and hope we have some snowier winters in the future! I also like to get creative when I can, taking pictures and painting.
Tough question! I went to Italy for a summer program in college and it was amazing. Hoping to go back on my own time soon to venture to new places in Europe—definitely Greece. I also went to California for the first time a few years ago and loved Joshua Tree, Palm Springs, and San Diego. I’m planning a trip out to Napa wine country next.
I have a mini goldendoodle—actually a “double doodle”—named Olive, who’ll be two in September. She’s the best!
